WATTEX, A FAMILY BUSINESS WITH MORE THAN HALF A CENTURY EXPERIENCE IN NONWOVENS...
Since the founding of the company in 1953 by Louis Baert, Wattex is a pioneer in the textile industry, especially in the staple fibre technology. In the early years, mainly natural fibres were processed..
Due to the success of broadloom carpet, the production was converted to non-woven carpet. This went along with a complete integration: production of polypropylene fibre, dyeing of polyester fibre and the production of self-laying tiles.
In the early eighties, a diversification was implemented: the production of polyester nonwovens. These nonwovens have a wide range of applications including filtration, geotextiles, automotive, carpet, etc...
After years of research, Wattex has developed special carriers for the waterproofing industry.
Due to its technical features, this product has gained a paramount place in the European market.
Wattex is now in its third generation. Under the leadership of Filip Baert, Wattex achieves a nice progress each year.
